A paradiddle is the name of a percussion rudiment.
ReplyDeleteIn percussion, a rudiment is one of the basic building
blocks of drumming. You can think of it as a letter being
one of the basic building blocks of words. This is actually
a good analogy, because there are about 26 letters and there
are about 26 rudiments.

You’ll also notice that the “Pa-ra” is the single stroke part and
ReplyDeletethe “did-dle” is the double stroke part. You could also set up your
metronome at this stage and have a go at locking in with a click
track.
