  1. A handy hint on playing paradiddles with accuracy and fluidity
is to say out loud “Pa-ra-did-dle, pa-ra-did-dle” as you play.
This verbalisation will help keep your timing and perception of
    the pulse under control.

  2. A paradiddle is the name of a percussion rudiment.
In percussion, a rudiment is one of the basic building
blocks of drumming. You can think of it as a letter being
one of the basic building blocks of words. This is actually
a good analogy, because there are about 26 letters and there
    are about 26 rudiments.

  3. You’ll also notice that the “Pa-ra” is the single stroke part and
the “did-dle” is the double stroke part. You could also set up your
metronome at this stage and have a go at locking in with a click
    track.

  4. The drum lesson features a song called 'Dollar In My
Pocket' by Heidi McCurdy as performed by Mike Michalkow.
This song is based around the 12 bar blues, so take your
blues knowledge and spice it up with this blues drum
    play-along.
